This week we are crushing on Icelandic musician Salóme Katrín and her latest indie-rock track “The Other Side”, a fun uptempo release Lyrically inspired by a naive love affair is just what we need before with the ‘no dancing’ restrictions listing in NSW in a few short weeks.

“The Other Side is an ode to my teenage self-exploring the indie rock world that I held so dear, and still do,” said Salóme Katrín. “When I hear the song I imagine jumping on my bed and shout-singing into a hairbrush.”

Composer, pianist and vocalist Salóme Katrín is a Icelandic musician who moved to Reykyavík in the autumn of 2015 where she studied philosophy at the University of Iceland. Not long after, she found that music was the most important thing in her life, which led to the release of her first EP, Water in November 2020. Salóme is a composer, singer and pianist. She won the Kraumur Music Award in 2020 for her EP Water and was also nominated for Newcomer of the Year at the Icelandic Music Awards 2021.

Her addictive and youthful energy is creating incredible fresh indie-rock tracks and we can’t wait to hear more from Salóme Katrín!
