This week we’re crushing on New Zealand folk songstress Reb Fountain. Reb has revealed her latest acoustic prize “Foxbright” via Flying Nun Records. The track features Reb’s enchantic voice that sends listeners into a trance through the hypnotic raw melodies accompanied by the beautifully soft acoustic guitar.
The visualiser for “Foxbright” stands as a rather organic, raw sentiment. Taking off with a calm, light filled glimpse of Reb playing her guitar, singing gently and just being - an act that Reb Fountain makes look so effortlessly natural and picturesque. The video shifts to moving projections displayed on Reb, framing her in a delicate and creative frame.
“When I played ‘Foxbright’ to Dave Khan he said, ‘that melody is the bass line’. I love that about the chorus; it’s a subtle and hypnotic imprint fully formed,” said Reb.
“Foxbright” presents as the fourth helping from Reb Fountain’s upcoming album IRIS, following “Lacuna,” “Beastie,” and “Heart.” IRIS is out via Flying Nun Records on October 1st, 2021 on both black and turquoise vinyl, CD and digitally.
“Foxbright” is another exciting addition to Reb Fountain’s unique soundscape, and we can’t wait to hear the rest of IRIS when it releases on October 1st!
