This week we’re crushing on Mijo Biscan’s new single, “That’s So Pretty”. This track sounds like a soundtrack to a fairytale, with a beautiful harp and a gentle quartet, it could be the perfect love song — but the lyrics are bitey and sarcastic, and it’s quite the opposite. Mijo really created an anti-love song, perfect for someone fresh out of a break-up and ready to change their perspective. Mijo describes how when in love, you see everything through rose-coloured glasses, and everything looks so pretty. This track explores how you see everything once you take those glasses off, and it’s so, so punchy. Mijo really goes for the kicker with the closing lines; “That’s so pretty. Baby, everything always looks so good on you. Everything but my love looks good on you.” A cleverly crafted and gentle track, contrasted with an emotional undertone, it makes for a good listen.
