Jade Bird’s exuberant new indie rock single “Headstart” oozes vintage vocal inspiration and folky nuances. “Headstart” is a light hearted anthem of liking someone who is just not quite taking the hints of how you feel.
“Releasing it [“Headstart”] feels like a way to give a bit of joy to the end of the year. It feels like community to me, and it makes me want to sing again.” said Bird.
At 22 years young, the melodic prodigy has already accumulated a massive list of accomplishments, among them Bird has opened for some of the biggest names (Hozier, The Lumineers, Father John Misty, and Lewis Capaldi) had notable performances at tastemaking events (Newport Folk Festival, Shaky Knees, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo) and already landing a hit in the Top 10 of the UK charts.
We have the biggest crush on Jade Bird’s “Headstart”, we hope she takes our hint.
