Dynamic, powerful and all things mighty. Georgia Van Etten’s latest single “Deep Black Water”, the title track of her highly anticipated forthcoming album is bound to leave you in a trance.
Facing the issues of classism, racism and all other unjust disparities faced by the working class under a government who further disadvantages them, Georgia grants the reflection and experience of those subject to prejudice. Built on symbolism, “Deep Black Water” presents a comparison to the sheer panic of the water drop off in the ocean, where you cannot see or meet safety. Matched with brooding lyrics and chant-like soundscapes, Georgia combines blues, roots and rock influences to create an epic protest song.
Georgia Van Etten is showing us her range and depth with this one. We can't wait to see what her album has to offer.
