This week we are crushing on Dear Seattle and their highly anticipated album “Someday”, out now.
Someday encompasses 11 tracks, featuring an incredibly raw depiction of the realisation that living in the present moment is necessary when contributing to one's happiness and personal growth. The album embodies pure aspiration and excited anticipation, to fear, expectation and crippling anxiety. The band take us on a whirlwind journey through the inner workings of their thought processes as they navigate tumultuous events, ultimately learning and growing as humans along the way. The talented names behind Dear Seattle include guitarist Brae Fisher, bassist Jeremy Baker, and drummer Josh McKay, where they effortlessly collaborate on the smoothest of tracks that explore topics from taboo to truth, on the complexities of everyday life, mental health, and relationships. Dear Seattle revealed the variety of genre on this record, explaining “There’s loads of acoustic guitar and bits of pianos and synths to break up the angst. When we were writing this album we were going away to Airbnb’s and writing with acoustic guitars and an electric kit, which I think made us really consider the songwriting more and led to us wanting to branch out from the overdriven power chords quite often.” Someday tour is happening in September and October 2022, kicking off at Adelaide Lion Arts Factory, then to Perth’s The Rosemount, Queensland’s Brightside, and The iconic Corner Hotel in Melbourne, before heading home to Sydney’s Crowbar in Leichhardt. Tickets can be purchased from the band’s website at dearseattle.com.au
